Janice Mayhew Courey has trained hundreds of Montessori teachers at both the Early Childhood and Elementary levels, in Windsor, Ontario , St. Maarten. N.A., and in London, England.  She has an Early Childhood Education Diploma,  and Honors B.A., a Masters Degree in Education and an Advanced (6-12 years) Montessori Diploma. Ms. Mayhew Courey and taught at Montessori House of Children from 1974 - 1976 and founded Lakeview Montessori School in 1978 and throughout her tenure at Lakeview has been involved in the education of children from 18 months to 14 years (E.C. & Elementary).  She can be reached at jmayhew@lakeview-school.com

Course Instructors:

Laure Kominar has been part of  Montessori teacher training in Toronto, Ontario, London, England, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Windsor, Ontario, Victoria, B.C. and Sweden.  She has a B.A. and both Foundation and Advanced (6-12 years) Montessori Diplomas.  She has recently completed her Masters of Education at the University of Toronto. She has taught in Montessori Schools since 1980, first at Lakeview and for the past several years, at Hillfield Strathallan College in Hamilton Ontario.

Pam Krause has given Montessori workshops for parents and teachers at conferences and at Lakeview and has taught the language section of our E.C. course since 1999.  She has an Early Childhood Education Diploma, B.A., an Ontario Teacher's Certificate and Montessori Foundation and Advanced  (6-9 years) Diplomas.  In addition, she has completed the St. Nicholas Montessori Workshop for teaching 9-12 year olds.  Mrs. Krause has had many years of experience working with children from 3-10 years of age at Lakeview Montessori School. Kumari Edirisinghe teaches the Math (her favorite subject) section of our course and has given workshops on math. She also enjoys teaching parents and assistants about Montessori education. Mrs. Edirisinghe has a partial B.Sc. from the University of Madras, as well as a Montessori Foundation level diploma from Sri Lanka.  She continued her Montessori Training with the elementary (6-9) course held at Lakeview in 1989-90 and the 9-12 workshop in 2000.  Mrs. Edirisinghe has had many years experience teaching children aged 2 ½ to 6, both in Sri Lanka and at Lakeview Montessori School.(E.C. and Elementary) She can be reached at kedirisinghe@lakeview-school.com

Sue Chilcott  has taught the sensorial section of our course since 1999 and given workshops on sensorial and language materials.  She has a B.A. from Brock University  and a Montessori Diploma at the foundation and elementary levels  and has been part of the Montessori Teachers education program staff since 1999.  Mrs. Chilcott has been teaching at Lakeview Montessori School for several years and has worked with children aged 2 ½ to 7 during that time. Tammy Russo has a keen interest in the Cultural Subjects and has taught those sections in our Elementary 1 (6 - 9) course. She completed her Montessori 3-12 diploma at Toronto Montessori Institute in 1997.  She initially taught Casa and then  Elementary levels at Bloomfield Hills Montessori and joined the Lakeview Staff in 2000 to teach St. Elementary (10 to 13yr old) class

Madalaine Patzalek has taught in  Montessori teacher education programs in Toronto, St Maarten. London England and Windsor, Ontario. She is the President of the Montessori Teachers Association of North America. Madaline has an E.C.E. diploma in addition to her Montessori Foundation (0-6yrs.) and her Advanced (6-12yrs) Diplomas. Ms. Patzalek had many years of experience teaching children from 2-13 years of age at Askin Montessori School, in London, Ontario, and Gibbons Park Montessori,  Lakeview Montessori in Windsor Ontario and is now at  St. Maarten Montessori School, in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.  She can be reached at mteach@caribserve.net

Renee Ryerson has worked in Montessori schools since July 1999, starting with a preschool class in Harper Woods, Michigan. She has an E.C.E diploma  and Montessori Early Childhood Diploma,  and Elementary diplomas. She has been the Junior Elementary Directress since September 2001, working with children 5 to 7 years old.
