Our Staff

Our Toddler programme follows Montessori philosophies that encourage self-help skills, vocabulary development, independence and self-confidence. Classroom materials include practical life activities, sensorial equipment, puzzles, books, large muscle equipment and riding toys.

During the day, the children enjoy group circle time that usually includes stories ,singing, outdoor play time in their own enclosed area, free time when they may choose activities from the shelves, and afternoon nap time for our full-day students

Toddlers may attend morning or full days.

Maximum student:teacher ratio 5:1

Additional staff for music, a resource teacher for our children with special needs, workers on government grant programmes, volunteers and frequent student teachers further reduce our overall ratios.

      Our Lakeview Montessori Toddler education emphasizes:

· learning through the use of concrete educational materials developed by Dr. Maria Montessori

· education based on individual progress according to the abilities of each child;

· learning through real life experiences (field trips are important as well as projects of cooking, planting, etc.);

· Assistance of the child in becoming an independent competent and confident individual

· Respect for the developing person in each child

· Assistance with toilet training
