Children With Special Needs
Children with special needs have always been part of Lakeview. ,Our children with special needs participate fully in the activities at Lakeview and therapy sessions (resource, speech, etc.) take place in the classrooms as much as possible so that therapy occurs in an inclusive, rather than an exclusive way.

Resource consultants assist and assess our children with special needs. Speech therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists are provided through Children First.
Program support staff assist with carrying
out individual program goals and help children participate
fully in their class activities. A Resource Assistant helps
identified children with special needs in our elementary
program, working with each of them as directed by the
classroom Teacher.
Lakeview addresses the needs of children with various diagnoses, such as autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, P.D.D. etc.
